After passing their 12th grade, candidates/students can pursue bachelor’s and master’s degrees in textile design. In the case of diploma and specialized certification courses, several designing courses are also offered after class ten. To be admitted to these courses, students must get a minimum score of 50%

The first thing you need to be a textile designer is to check off the list if you have a little passion for fabric and everything that belongs in that field. You need to have a creative critical thinking outlook on things and will need to have intuition with what color goes with what shape and the texture of the fabric or yarn as well.

• Good drawing or illustration skills.
• Appropriate knowledge of various methods and characteristics of different textile materials.
• Knowledge of recent and forthcoming market trends.
